CORRESPONDENCE ABOUT JESUIT GUEST SPEAKERS AT ANDREWS UNIVERSITY
SEMINARY
(Sadly, the correspondents but dimly perceive the profound tragedy
unfolding before their eyes - the spiritual disease of Romanism in the
Seventh-day Adventist Church is terminal)

ANTICHRIST WHO IS HE
THE
CHURCH PLAYS THE HARLOT IN THE LAST REMNANT OF TIME!
Ellen G. White wrote in "Shall We Be Found
Wanting?":
Who can truthfully say: "Our gold is tried in the fire; our garments
are unspotted by the world"? I saw our Instructor pointing to the garments
of so-called righteousness. Stripping them off, He laid bare the defilement
beneath. Then He said to me: "Can you not see how they have pretentiously
covered up their defilement and rottenness of character? 'How is the faithful
city become an harlot!' My Father's house is made a house of merchandise, a
place whence the divine presence and glory have departed! For this cause there
is weakness, and strength is lacking." (TM 8, p. 250; Emphasis added)
She also wrote in "The Parable of the Ten
Virgins":
The first, second, and third
angels' messages are to be repeated. The call is to be given to the church:
"Babylon
the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the
hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For
all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the
kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of
the earth have waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. . . . Come
out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye
receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath
remembered her iniquities."
Many who went forth to meet the Bridegroom under the messages of the
first and second angels, refused the third, the last testing message to be
given to the world, and a similar position will be taken when the last call is
made. (R&H, October 31, 1899; emphasis added)
Ellen White also wrote in "The Seal of God":
Here we see that the
church--the Lord's sanctuary--was the first to feel the stroke of the
wrath of God. The ancient men, those to
whom God had given great light and who had stood as guardians of the
spiritual interests of the people, had betrayed their trust. . . . These
dumb dogs that would not bark are the ones who feel the just vengeance
of an offended God. Men, maidens, and
little children all perish together. (5T,
p. 211; emphasis added)
Must we conclude from
these and other statements in the Writings that the Seventh-day
Adventist Church becomes Babylon? Emphatically "No." That
the corporate body has become permeated by Romanism and become a harlot
as predicted is plain to see if only we would consult our Bibles.
However, we must not conflate Babylon with
any one of her daughters. They are
distinct, although a part of Great Babylon. (Cf.
The Church of Rome
in Bible Prophecy)
Under the figure of Jezebel,
our Lord has said of the Roman Church,
"And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she
repented not."
(Rev 2:21.)
Protestant and
S.D.A. Bible expositors have long characterized the period of the church in
Thyatira as the era of papal supremacy (See S.D.A.
Bible Commentary, Vol. 7 pp. 753-754.)
"As applied to the Thyratira period of Christian history, the
figure of Jezebel represents the power that produced the great apostasy of the
medieval centuries" (ibid. p. 751.)
The Bible Commentary states that the textual evidence attests the
reading to be "is not willing to repent," meaning that she refuses to
do so. "Here was no case of
unenlightened, nor even of willful ignorance, but of insistent and defiant rebellion" (ibid. p. 751;
emphasis supplied.)
This is a very
significant statement.
The leaders and
theologians of the Church of Rome are well-acquainted with the Bible; but they
reject the Bible as the final Word of God, relying primarily on the traditions
of the church for doctrine.
Therefore,
assuming that the S.D.A. theologians are attempting to present doctrines based
on the Bible alone, it is a foregone conclusion that the Roman Church will not
accept them. If the S.D.A. theologians
seek to fortify their positions by citing traditions, then they join
Rome in rejecting the Protestant principle of "Sola Scriptura." Jezebel has "them that commit adultery
with her," and she has "her children" (Rev. 2:22,23.)
("The Church
of Rome in Bible Prophecy" above referenced)
The Seventh-day Adventist Church leadership have willingly
and wilfully led the corporate body into Babylonian captivity. The
call of Revelation 18:4 to the members of the corporate body is to come
out of Babylonian captivity.
However, I will reiterate what I have stated before: that
the Church was not Babylon when Ellen G. White wrote in 1893, is not Babylon
now, and will never be Babylon. It is “Laodicea,” the Church to which the
testimony that you have been questioning me about was addressed. If you
check my e-mail message of December 1, to which I attached a chapter from
Questions
on Doctrine, you will find the following statement, “Laodicea has become a
harlot, a daughter of Babylon. She is not Babylon, but has voluntarily
gone into Babylonian captivity. She is a
part of Great Babylon.”
(I referred you to the document that was attached.)
It is interesting to note the language of the prophets who called
ancient Israel out of literal Babylon:
Thus
saith the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them
that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying
wind . . . Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every
man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time
of the LORD’S vengeance ( Jer. 51:1, 6; emphasis added.)
Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with
the daughter of Babylon.
(Zech. 2:7; Emphasis added.)
Today the general call is to come out of spiritual Babylon, and to the
Seventh-day Adventist Church specifically I suggest it is to them that “dwell
in the midst of them that rise up against me” (those who have waged war against
the Truth;) to “Zion that dwellest with the daughter
of Babylon.” (From "Questions
on the Trinity Doctrine and Alliance With Babylon")
To heed the call of Rev. 18:4, a
Seventh-day Adventist does not have to identify the corporate body as Babylon.
It is enough to exercise due diligence in BIBLE STUDY to identify all of the
Romanism that permeates the contemporary Church, and FLEE FROM THE WRATH TO
COME!!
