THE IDENTITY OF THE PRE-EXISTENT CHRIST REVEALED IN THE BIBLE
A Response to Voice of the Reformer's
"Jesus is not the Creator" & "Father is the Creator"

We need to be very careful in the concepts that we have of Christ in His existence before the Incarnation, lest we unwittingly denigrate His exalted Being. The same Paul who correctly described Him as the agent of creation also wrote of Him:

Who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited (Phil. 2:6, NRSV)

John 1:1-3 states:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:1-3, KJV)

When we turn to the Genesis of the world's creation, we see a duality of Gods saying, ". . . Let us make man in our image, after our likeness . . ." (Gen. 1:26.)

A careful study of the Scriptures reveals Christ as Spirit, and one of the duality of Gods who voluntarily subordinated Himself to the One designated to occupy the throne as the Father. In the Incarnation, the Word who was Spirit became flesh (John 1:14) It was in the form of man (truly man) that He could say of Himself, "I can of myself do nothing etc."

When He was resurrected from the dead and ascended to heaven, He was glorified on the Day of Pentecost by His coronation as Melchisedek our High Priest, restored to His Divine attributes of omniscience and omnipotence, but not omnipresence because He continues in the form of man. However, He is omnipresent by the Holy Spirit, of whom He said:

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. (John 14:16-18)

This is but a summary of what is understandably a very large subject. For a fuller understanding I recommend the following studies, among others on this website: El; THE GODHEAD

Subject:  Jesus is not the Creator

Jesus is not "The Creator"

the Father who dwells in Me does the works” (John 14:10)

Creator means mastermind of the creation, and Jesus is not the Creator. Jesus (Son of God) is the word/voice of the creation. God the Father created everything in Heaven & Earth through the word/voice of His son Jesus Christ. Jesus himself is a born “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.” (Col 1:15). God the Father is above all and Jesus is His son.

Jesus Himself said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.” (John 5:19-21)

Watch the Pattern of Christ’s ministry in this Earth:

  • Before raising Lazarus, Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.” (John 11:41)
  • Before breaking the five loaves & two fishes for multitude, Jesus “looking up to heaven He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples” (Matt 14:19)

Every time Jesus commanded for a miracle, He first Thanks the Father. Jesus denied himself and said, “The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.” (John 14:10)

The style of work Jesus did in this world, is same what He did at Creation. Jesus commanded, “Let there be light” (Gen 1:3) and it was the Father who does the work. (John 14:10) – All the heaven & earth was created in this same style. Jesus was the Word, but Father was the Authority.

Now who is the Creator: Son or the Father? Jesus said, “My Father is greater than I.” (John 14:28). “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do” (John 5:19-21). God the Father is the Creator. The designation of “The Creator” is a sole property of God the Father.

John & Paul wanted to uphold the importance of Jesus by stating His roll in creation. But they did not want to establish him as the Creator. (Please read the following verses carefully and pray. John 1:1-3, 14; Colossians 1:15, 16; Hebrews 1:1, 2) I believe Holy Spirit will reveal the True explanation of these verses to you.

Solid Evidence: Heaven is the ultimate place of Worship. And in heaven, God the Father is being worshiped as the Creator, and Son of God is being worshiped as the Redeemer.

Worship of the Father:Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; andthere was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, ......and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:

“You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created. (Rev 5:2-5,10-11)

Worship of the Son:And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, ................. and they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth.” (Rev 5:6-10)

God the Father – is the Creator

Son of God – is the Redeemer

Spirit of God – is the Comforter

Don’t Confuse, These are the Truths.

Father is “The Creator”

Disciple John, Apostle Paul, and prophetess Ellen G. White – all they wanted to say is: “God the Father had created the heaven & the earth through the Word/Voice of Christ; and for Christ.” When Son said, “Let there be light” (Gen 1:3), it was the Father who brought the light into existence “Father who......does the works” (John 14:10). When Son said, “Let there be fish & birds”, it was the Father who brought the fish & birds into existence. God the Father had done accordingly, so “that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13)

Mrs. White said, "True education is the inculcation of those ideas that will impress the mind and heart with the knowledge of God the Creator and Jesus Christ the Redeemer." [FE 543]

God the Father is “The Creator”, and the Son of God is the “Word at creation”. Anybody who deny the “Father” as “the Creator”; he denies the Creator of his own Savior Jesus Christ.

Calling Jesus as “The Creator” is denying the importance, position & throne of “The Father”. Then we have no need to go to the Father. We become the children of Christ. But it is not true.

Christ is not our Father, but He is our Elder brother. We were children of God. But because of sin we lost that status. So our elder brother came from heaven and died to restore our lost status. Paul said: “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” (Gal 3:26)

Calling Jesus as “The Creator”– is an attempt to find the “Creator” and the “Redeemer” in the same body. This is apostasy. This is establishing the false teaching of Trinity. One body; different appearance.

Jesus himself swore to the Creator (the Father):The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer” (Rev 10:5-6).

We are not despising Christ: We are affirming that everything of heaven and earth was created by the command of Jesus, and for Jesus. But it was the Father who really does the work. It was the Father who brought things into existence. Father is the mastermind and authority of the Creation. So “The Father” must be designated as “The Creator”.

What Father did for the Son at creation, He did the same for Christ’ earthly ministry. Whenever Jesus commanded for a miracle, Father did the work. So that the Father may be glorified through His Son.

Same attitude God is showing for His faithful servant’s for ages after ages. There are thousands of evens recorded in the Bible & in the History, where God-fearing people commanded something in faith, and God did that for them. So that the Father may be glorified through His faithful children.

This is why our Heavenly Father is so Great. This is why Christ said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matt 7:7)
